Leaving Las Vegas

It was a girls’ weekend and we all know what happens during those—the unspeakable: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” But for me, Vegas has been the place of wonderful things—realization, marriage and even, pregnancy. This trip wasn’t any different as it provided me with reflection.

Like many women, I’ve struggled with the family-work-life balance. Sometimes to the point that I wonder about my choices. But during this trip, I realized that I’m truly blessed. I love my husband, my son, my friends, and despite the bumpy road sometimes, my days. It was good to get away. It allowed me to recharge my batteries, spend time with friends (the new, the old and the cousin) and introduce myself to the new me (the one that’s a mom and happy wife). It was a fabulous weekend in Sin City and I am glad that I left a little bit poorer but much richer.
